Have you ever had to fight a war, and find your family at the same time.  Shade Silverwing had to do that all at the same time in the book Sunwing by Kenneth Oppel.

 Shade Silverwing a small male runty bat looking for his father along side his strong female brightwing friend Marina .  But they only have one problem on this journey Goth a strong vampire bat,  whom has been struck by lighting and has been resurrected and healed by the bat god Cama Zotz .  Also Goth was made king in the Vampyrum where his father died out looking for food so, Goth was made king “The stone says that a solar eclipse will occur and Zotz will reign ,but this requires 100 sacrifices”.  Will Shade find his father stop the war in time, or will all the Earth be obliterated by the power of Zotz, read to find out.

 My favorite part was when Goth and Shade are battling and shade is turning into many sound bodies (forms),and Goth is getting confused and scared. The reason why I like this part is because is has a lot of good imagery and action words. Also another reason why is that you can see the battle happening right in front of you.

 As you get into the book more, and more its starts getting better and better.  On a scale of 1 to 10, overall I would rate this book a 10.
